Following the success of last year’s inaugural MACH 1 Stages Rally at Machrihanish Air Base in Kintyre, the event’s organisers have announced new and exciting plans to make certain that the 2015 Scottish Tarmack Rally Championship event is even bigger and better.

Scheduled to take place over the weekend of July 11th and 12th, 2015, the event is once again being organised by the motorsport stalwarts ,Dunfermline Car Club [DCC]. With more than 40 years’ experience, DCC know exactly what makes a good rally – and they didn’t half demonstrate that one last year.

The event will be known as the MACH 1 Stages in association with Blackwood Plant Hire who have come on board as next year’s main championship sponsor.

There is a brand new format in the pipeline – and plans to open up new areas of the airfield are already under way, with organisers confident the revamped 2015 event will attract record numbers of competitors and spectators.

Event organiser David Hatrick says: ‘The 2014 rally was an unprecedented success. We saw more than 100 teams compete over the Stages during the weekend, and spectator figures were astonishing. Some of the top competitors from the Scottish Rally Championship [SRC] took part too, which was a great boost to the popularity of the event.

‘In 2015, we want to cement the Mach 1 Stages as the event to get in your diary early.

‘Organisers are also keen to encourage local businesses to become involved in the 2015 event, either by sponsoring a stage or by sponsoring a local competitor.

‘In 2014, we received fantastic support from the local community and plenty of businesses got involved – providing food, entertainment and such like.

‘We’d like to enhance the local community involvement next year – and we’re inviting any businesses who would like to participate in any way to contact us as soon as possible.’
